It's been TOO long since my last blog!!!

Wow, how time flies. It's been almost a month since i last blogged.
I'm sitting here at Aj's laptop while he and Toby finish constructing a 3D spider puzzle thingy.
Things are slow but steady with BA. Would love a few more orders per week but but i'm not grumbling, just stating. Facebook is a wonderful tool for sharing photos and chatting to people about the business.
We (mum and I) went to the Elwood Community Market at the start of the month...not going to do it again. There were a few other creative stalls, but loads of food and 'garage sale' stalls. We only had a few people interested and the only sale was a 'sample' which covered the petrol. The upside was that i have come to realise that one market per month, for now, is what is best.
Parkdale Market was on the 15th and i did really well there. Better than the month before and i had people coming back to say thanks and give me feedback. Plus i got another order. Go the orders!!!
I've been having fun with some other creative ideas too. BA's Journal/Notebook range will come out in June and I've been designing some more shapes.

An order from Ararat, which my beautiful sister was able to do for me.

Henry, the first Parkdale Market order. And then the S for one very cute little girl.

And while Aj was helping a friend of mine understand her chemisty, i was enjoying some sewing craft. Isn't this little owl, egg cosy the cutest. Thinking of doing a large version, with a few adjustments, as a door stop for my Zoe's room.

These ones are for sale, $30 each with photo printing at no extra cost.

Off to market we went.

It's too long a story for now but on Thursday I called
and got into the Parkdale Market!
Well, the market went ok. Quieter than i expected but a few others said it was quiter than usual. I have booked in for next month and look forward to seeing those who took info and mentioned bringing friends back. I sold a few peices and took one order. For a starter I was happy to have covered my costs and come out with a little in hand.

Thanks to mum for coming with me today and to my family for being kind enough to release me for the morning. Love you all! Thanks too, to those who have been supportive in my adventures. xox

treasured

I'm not much of a blogger more of a talker but tonight I'm feeling bloggy so here goes.

I felt that it was really important to have a word for each of the kids rooms. I wanted something that spoke into their lives and into who they are and will become. For Zoe it was beloved. I did it in a metalic white embossed with butterflies and for Toby...treasured. Its been sitting on the shelf waiting to be finished for a few months now, will since before we moved into this house (last November) but it's done now and i am so pleased with the outcome. It looks brillant on his wall as its the only thing on the wall. A real statement of who our Toby is, treasured by us and treasured by God.

Cupcake anyone?

I created this cupcake last night. I was inspired by my great friend Lucy, who loves baking and her mum, who makes aprons.

I was thinking how great it'd be to have aprons hanging on a wall, for when people want to come over and create something but don't want splashes on their clothes...then it went to the baking side of aprons and this was the end product.

I created my own paper! Wow, God is expanding my creativity. I then went on to design a ballet/dance paper but you'll have to wait for that one.

Basic Cupcake Recipe

200g unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup caster sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups self-raising flour, sifted
1/2 cup milk

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced oven. Line muffin or mini-muffin pans with paper cases.

Using an electric mixer, beat butter, vanilla and sugar in a small bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition (mixture will separate at this stage). Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Stir in half the flour. Stir in half the milk. Repeat with remaining flour and milk until combined.

For 1/3 cup-capacity muffin pans use 2 level tablespoons of mixture. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes. Alternatively, for 1 tablespoon-capacity mini muffin pans use 1 tablespoon mixture. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Stand cakes in pans for 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Zozo's party - photos take2

Zozo's party

These photos are a tad late in getting on the blog but i wanted to share them with you. My sister (Driftwood Cakes) made the beautiful cake toppers, and they finished off the cupcakes very well. Plus they tasted yummy. It was a great day spent with family and a few close friends. It's unbelieveable that Zoe is one already! She is such a strong little character! Love her so very much.

Miss Ladybug

Made this Ladybug and Owl for my sisters friend.
I have made a ladybug before but as I never make two the same, each one is exciting and fun to do.
Better go and package them up for posting in the morning.

The carboot stall.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Wow, I did it. Butterfly Artworks first 'stall'.

The carboot sale went well. I didn't get my hopes up to high as after all, and i include myself in this, carboot sales are normally where people go to get a bargain.
It was a beautiful day, and plenty of stall holders were there to help support the Frankston Church of Christ.
I was pleasantly surprised by the custom, and a number of my brochures were taken for further information.
Thank you for your love and support.
Thanks to Leesa for allowing me to share her table.
A huge thanks to Aj and the kids for allowing me to express my creativity in this way.
And a massive thanks to God for giving me my creativity.
With love xox
